March 25, 2019
Womens History Month Event

Join "The Dirt" hosts Anna Goldfield and Amber Zambelli as they do a "live recording" of their podcast by exploring the story of Helen Hunt Jackson, an American poet, writer, and activist on behalf of Native Americans. She fought against the United States’ treatment of indigenous people during the westward expansion in the 1800s, and attracted significant attention to her cause. This topic also ties in to a brief history of Jackson’s work with the California missions, and will reference some of the archaeological conservancy projects related to California’s historic missions. "The Dirt" podcast covers a wide range of anthropological topics with the intention of making science and research accessible and fun for general audiences.
